12 Days of Bookmas Day 1: Tis The Season Book Tag

It’s almost Christmas! Which means for the next 12 days I will be doing the 12 Days of Bookmas with new Christmas/winter themed post each day until Christmas. For the first post, I will be doing the Tis the Season Book Tag because who doesn’t love a good book tag?

  1. Do you have a favorite winter read?
Harry Potter is definitely my favorite winter read (surprise, surprise), because of the beautiful Hogwarts scenery and the amazing winter scenes. Imagine being in Hogsmeade drinking a hot butterbeer on Christmas Eve… *sighs.* Other than Harry Potter, my second favorite winter read is Let it Snow by John Green, Lauren Myracle, and Maureen Johnson because it’s Christmassy, cute, and funny.
  2. Find a book with blue on the cover!Screen Shot 2015-12-13 at 5.53.52 PM
My True Love Gave to Me, edited by Stephanie Perkins, not only has blue on the cover, but also the most adorable Christmas design ever. I have a weakness for cute covers and this UK paperback does not disappoint!
  3. Find a book you’d use as the star on a Christmas tree
If I could somehow use Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi as my Christmas tree star, I would. The Shatter Me trilogy is one of my favorite series of the year and I can’t get enough of it. My favorite cover (and story) in the series is Ignite Me so it’s the perfect choice.
  4. Pick one winter place that would be perfect for a winter vacation
The obvious choice for this answer is Hogwarts, but my second choice is be Paris because of Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. Anna and the French Kiss has beautiful winter scenes that make me want to go to Paris and hang out at all the little shops and cafes that Anna and Etienne love!
  5. Pick one fictional character you’d like to take with you on your winter vacationScreen Shot 2015-12-13 at 5.55.37 PM
Warner, please please go on winter vacation with me to Paris. Warner from the Shatter Me trilogy is one of my favorite book characters ever and I’m slightly envious of Juliette because she gets to spend so much time with him. Warner is funny, sweet, and totally swoon worthy. Let’s be honest, Warner is the ultimate book boyfriend!
  6. Name one book on your wish list this year!
Only one? Hmm…. The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons. The Bronze Horseman is a historical fiction romance with a beautiful winter-y cover. I’ve been loving historical fiction, especially novels taking place during the Second World War. I really really really want to read this one and I hope I get it for Christmas this year!
  7. Favorite holiday drink, treat, and movieScreen Shot 2015-12-13 at 5.58.07 PM
My all-time favorite holiday drink is, of course, egg nog! I love egg nog so much I could drink it year long… yum. Also, I’ve been drinking coffee with this delicious peppermint mocha creamer that is absolute liquid Christmas! My favorite holiday treat is peppermint ice cream, which I haven’t had yet this year. I’m an ice cream addict and I can never go without ice cream, even when it’s 10 degrees outside and snowing. Peppermint ice cream is so delicious! My favorite holiday movie is Home Alone because it’s hilarious and never gets old.

I’m so excited for the 12 Days of Bookmas and blogging every day! If you haven’t yet done this tag, then TAG you’re it. Talk to you tomorrow with a new Christmas themed post.

Happy reading,

Emily
